As the sun shone brightly over the Student Center Quad, Montclair State University’s 4th annual Hispanic Heritage Month block party filled the air with the lively sounds of Latin music. The event drew students, faculty and staff into a festive gathering that highlighted the richness of Latino and Hispanic culture through music, food and dance. The event was put on by the Office of Hispanic Initiatives and took place on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024.
Flag face painting allowed students to express their heritage.
Many people who attended enjoyed the delicious food, namely the sweet fried plantains, also known as Maduros.
The block party consisted of nothing but good energy and smiles. Many students and faculty took to dancing as a way to express their love for the culture and music.
