On Saturday, September 30 was Montclair State University’s Homecoming celebration. The day was filled with laugher, carnival games, and many other festivities.
The events started later than anticipated due to the rain, however when it was time to welcome alumni, students, faculty, and family members of both Bloomfield college and Montclair state University the clouds cleared up and for a majority of the day, it was sunny and dry.
All of the festivities started around 2pm. The scheduled performances were kicked off with an ecstatic and energetic performance from the campus theatre organization the Players performed in the Ampitheater.
While the performances were underway, there were a lot of other festivities for people to check out such as, carnivals games, where people walked away with prizes and merch.
Among the other things there was face painting, a caricature artist, and even yes, even a zip line set up in front of Morehead Hall.
The street fair located in Chapin Drive, had a variety of food from different vendors, drinks, and tables set up of different programs offered on campus. such as the First-Generation Initiatives.
In addition, to all the festivities for students, family, and faculty, there was the Alumni barbecue which offered a great space for Alum to reconnect and enjoy some food before the game.
The performances concluded with enthusiastic dance routines by different Student Government association, Greek life organizations, and the Montclair State University dance team.
After the festivities, everyone made their way down to Sprague field to watch the Homecoming game.
