Montclair State University expanded parking Lot 60. The new extension is located on the far left side of the original parking lot. It was developed over the summer of 2016, to eliminate some of the ongoing parking issues on campus.
The extended division of Lot 60 was built to accommodate commuter students and faculty with an additional parking option.
Previously, the Lexus dealership on Route 46 used this once unpaved lot as storage to keep vehicles. This new development can hold up to 350 vehicles. The construction was completed on Sept. 1.
“I’m happy to see Montclair State responded to the increasing demand for more parking spaces, which has been an ongoing issue for some years,” said Diamond Anderson, a senior music major.
Over the years, there have been a significant amount of complaints in regards to the campus not having a sufficient amount of parking spaces.
“It’s a necessity for Montclair State University to provide the ever-growing population with enough parking spaces,” said Assistant Facility Manager of Parking Services, J.C. Scull.
