On Wednesday, in a brief moment of respite from the rainy weather outside Montclair State University’s Student Center, a flag-raising ceremony was held in honor of Veteran’s Day. The event was attended by veterans spanning generations from World War II, Vietnam and Afghanistan.

The president of Montclair State’s Student Veterans Association Franklin Montano delivered a speech commemorating the event. “Veteran’s Day,” Montano said, “is a day where we honor those who have sacrificed relentless amounts of effort and countless amounts of hours of devotion to our nation’s freedom.”
