Montclair State Alum C.J. Conway Signed to Giants’ Practice Squad

by Kevin Saez

C.J. Conway became the first Montclair State University alum in 14 years to start the NFL season when he was signed to the New York Giants’ practice squad. The last player to carry that honor was offensive lineman John Kuzora, who was signed to the Giants’ practice squad in 2000 and 2001 and he was eventually allocated to NFL Europe.

Conway featured in the third and fourth preseason games for the Giants against the New York Jets and New England Patriots, respectively.
After receiving the honor of NJAC Athlete of the Year, Conway went undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft and was invited to the Giants’ Rookie Camp. Conway was later called back into the team in August after multiple injuries to their defensive unit led to the Giants needing extra help on defense.
Conway will look to continue working with the team and may be signed to the team down the road.
