How quickly the lights appeared
From darkness, emerged
Ablaze just like a comet
Remember how brilliant they shone
We pined and we yearned
With world’s desire
To reach their path
To grasp ahold the beam
But fire can only burn so boldly
How they dimmed
How they faded
And as quick as they came
The lights had gone
